Send Again — Privacy Policy
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Send Again iOS application, its custom keyboard extension, and its optional home-screen / lock-screen widget (together, the “App”). It is published for App Store users and reviewers.
Send Again is a tool for short messages you send often (for example, “Reached home” or “On my way”). You save a line once; the keyboard or widget helps you reuse it. Ranking is based only on when you actually use a saved message — not on reading other apps’ conversations.
2. Information the App stores
The App stores the following on your device:
- Message text you choose to save (and optional labels such as categories or pins).
- Use history — timestamps of when you insert, share, or copy a saved message so the App can rank what you usually send “about now.”
- Local preferences needed for the App to work (for example, onboarding completion or ranking-related settings).
This data lives in the App’s shared container (an iOS App Group) so the main app, keyboard, and widget can access the same list. We do not require you to create an account with us.
3. What the App does not collect
- It does not read or upload the surrounding text you type in Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram, or other apps.
- It does not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or location for ranking or advertising.
- It does not include third-party advertising or analytics / tracking SDKs.
- It does not sell personal information.
Learning records only which saved message you used and when — not the free-form content of chats outside the App.
4. Full Access (custom keyboard)
iOS requires “Allow Full Access” for a custom keyboard to read data from a shared App Group. Send Again requests Full Access only so the keyboard can load your saved messages and record when you insert one.
Without Full Access, iOS blocks that shared container and the keyboard cannot show your list. The optional home-screen widget can still show suggestions because that restriction applies to keyboard extensions, not widgets.
Full Access is not used to transmit keystrokes or third-party app text fields to a Send Again server. This version of the App has no backend server for message content.
5. iCloud backup (optional, Apple-operated)
If you are signed into iCloud on your device and the App’s iCloud capability is
available, Send Again may keep a small backup of your saved messages and related
data using Apple’s iCloud Key-Value storage
(NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore). This helps restore your list after a
reinstall or on a new device.
- Only the main app writes to iCloud; the keyboard and widget use the local App Group.
- Data is stored under your Apple ID / iCloud account, not on a custom Send Again server.
- If you are signed out of iCloud, or iCloud is unavailable, the App continues to work with on-device storage only.
Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and your iCloud settings.
6. How information is used
- To show and insert the messages you saved
- To rank suggestions by time-of-day habits (from use timestamps)
- To power the optional widget’s “about now” suggestion and copy action
- To restore your list via iCloud when that feature is available
We do not use this data for advertising profiles or cross-app tracking.
7. Sharing of information
We do not sell your information. Information may leave your device only in these limited cases:
- iCloud sync — if enabled on your device, via Apple’s iCloud service as described above.
- You choose to share — for example, when you use the system share sheet to send a message elsewhere.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or valid legal process (we do not operate a message content server to search in response to requests).
8. Data retention and deletion
- On-device data remains until you delete individual messages in the App, clear App data, or uninstall Send Again.
- Uninstalling the App removes local App Group data associated with it, subject to iOS behavior.
- iCloud Key-Value copies, if any, follow your Apple ID / iCloud retention and device sign-out behavior. You can remove the App and manage iCloud data in iOS Settings under your Apple ID → iCloud.
9. Security
Saved messages are stored using standard iOS app-container and App Group mechanisms. We rely on the security of the device and, when used, Apple’s iCloud. No method of storage is perfectly secure; protect your device with a passcode or biometrics and keep iOS up to date.
10. Children’s privacy
Send Again is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us using the details below and we will help you remove it from the App as appropriate.
11. Your rights and choices
- Edit or delete saved messages at any time in the App.
- Turn off the keyboard or Full Access in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard.
- Remove the home-screen widget at any time.
- Sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud for the App to stop cloud backup.
- Uninstall the App to remove local data.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because Send Again does not operate a user account database for message content, most data is under your control on the device. For requests, use the contact channel below.
12. International processing
The App is designed to process data on your device. If iCloud backup is active, Apple may process that data in regions where Apple operates iCloud. See Apple’s privacy documentation for details.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
